Three from a family test positive for COVID-19 in Coimbatore

Three members from the same family - father, mother and son in Coimbatore have been confirmed with COVID-19 infection. All three had been admitted to ESI hospital, here.

Coimbatore: Three members from the same family - father, mother and son in Coimbatore have been confirmed with COVID-19 infection. All three had been admitted to ESI hospital, here. 

The three COVID infected persons belonging to the same family reside near Velandipalayam, Saibaba Colony in Coimbatore. They reportedly sought permission from the district administration to go to Kerala. Following this, they were instructed to do a Coronavirus test. 

Four of them went to the Government Hospital in Coimbatore for examination. Upon testing, it was confirmed that three out of four people were tested family. The three were subsequently admitted to the ESI hospital for treatment. 

The health department have geared up contact tracing and are investigating. All their neighbours and contacts are advised to self quarantine. Similarly, the health department has requested the police to investigate their cell phone network frequencies to intensify further isolation.

Following this, the number of people affected by the coronavirus in Coimbatore has increased to 145.
