Coimbatore: A tea estate worker of the Murugali Estate in Valparai, near Sholayar dam was gored by a bison. He reportedly sustained grievous injuries and is being treated at Coimbatore government hospital.
Coimbatore: A tea estate worker of the Murugali Estate in Valparai, near Sholayar dam was gored by a bison. He reportedly sustained grievous injuries and is being treated at Coimbatore government hospital.
More than 500 employees are employed at the Murugali estate in Valparai. Alex (37) works in the tea estate. Yesterday, while he was walking near the tea estate road he was attacked by a bison which charged at him. In the attack, Alex was thrown and injured.
Hearing Alex cry in pain, people in the vicinity rushed to help him who was lying in a pool of blood. He was first rushed to the estate hospital. First aid was administered under the advice of the Block Resource Centre Chief Doctor Babu Lakshmanan. Alex was then shifted to Pollachi Government hospital.
For further treatment, he was referred to the Coimbatore GH. Intensive treatment is being offered to Alex at the Coimbatore GH.
This incident has caused panic and fear in the minds of the people of the estate. Investigations are being conducted by the forest department, led by the Maanampalli Forest Ranger Natarajan.
