Fare details for special trains to be operated on demand during COVID-19 crisis

Coimbatore: As the COVID-19 lockdown has halted all train services, many migrant workers and passengers have got stranded in several places and unable to proceed towards their destination. Lack of transportation facilities certainly has unveiled difficult times for the people and the district administrations.

Coimbatore: As the COVID-19 lockdown has halted all train services, many migrant workers and passengers have got stranded in several places and unable to proceed towards their destination. Lack of transportation facilities certainly has unveiled difficult times for the people and the district administrations.

Heeding to the request of various State Governments to facilitate transport facility for the stranded passengers, of the originating/destination stations, special trains have been decided to be brought into operation, by the Ministry of Railways. 

Fare for these special trains will include the fare for sleeper mail express trains+ superfast charge of Rs.30+ additional charge of Rs.20. The fare will be applicable for the special trains with effect from 2400 hrs of May 1, 2020.

A copy of this announcement was sent to the various railway corporations for appropriate action.
