In the Nilgiris, the district administration has planned to use the fully bloomed, colorful, scented flowers at the world fame Botanical garden to sensitise the people on the pandemic.

All tourist locations in the district has been closed down due to lockdown. Those places that once hosted thousands of people, now wears a deserted look.
Ahead of the COVID issue, 38,000 flower pots were set up for the upcoming flower show scheduled this month. Out of the 38,000 flower pots, 5,000 pots have now been used to create awareness on Coronavirus. The flowers were decorated indicating the shape of the Coronavrius and at the bottom of the floral set up, words like 'Stay Safe' and 'Stay Indoors' were also marked.
The remaining 33,000 floral pots are being maintained at the botanical garden. It is to be noted that the annual vegetable show which was scheduled to take place tomorrow remains cancelled.
