Due to COVID threat, May Day was celebrated in a peaceful manner by maintaining social distancing.
Tirupur MP Subbarayan hoisted the union flag at the AITUC Hosiery Factory Labor Union on Tirupur-Perumanallur road.
The usual May Day fervour was missing, as only four of the respective unions gathered to celebrate by hoisting the flag by maintaining social distancing.
