The Nilgiris: District Collector, J Innocent Divya in a press meet on Monday has informed that all nine patients who were affected by COVID-19 in the Nilgiris district have fully recovered and discharged from the hospital.
The Nilgiris: District Collector, J Innocent Divya in a press meet on Monday has informed that all nine patients who were affected by COVID-19 in the Nilgiris district have fully recovered and discharged from the hospital.
"All nine COVID-19 patients from the Nilgiris have recovered and no new cases of the disease have been reported, so far. Therefore, now the district is 100% free of COVID-19. All the discharged patients will be isolated at their homes for 28 days. Isolated areas will continue to be monitored and relaxation of the lockdown will be informed later", informed the Collector.
Earlier, tourists from other countries and States were isolated in the district. Around 1,471 people were isolated and were kept under medical supervision. Now, all are out of isolation, the Collector added.
Eight patients who were first tested positive for COVID infection recovered and discharged, last week. Now, the ninth patient from Kaandhal, Ooty has also been discharged from the hospital in Coimbatore.
Following this, Ooty is now declared 100% free of COVID-19.
