Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) has awarded the construction of Underground Sewage Scheme to added areas of the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Wards 87 to 100, to Larsen and Toubro Ltd., (L&T).
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD) has awarded the construction of Underground Sewage Scheme to added areas of the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Wards 87 to 100, to Larsen and Toubro Ltd., (L&T).
While the work was in progress in areas of Kurichi and Kuniyamuthur, the COVID 19, lockdown had come into effect from March 25, 2020. Due to which all UGD construction works came to a grinding halt.
Taking responsibility for the well-being of the workers who are engaged at various sites, a total of 104 labourers are staying at the camp provided by L&T, which is located in Kovaipudur and Vellalore.
They have been provided with food and other basic amenities.
Regular thermal screening is also being undertaken for all the workmen and their health is monitored continuously, according to a release from L&T.
