Coimbatore: A team of 40 students from the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication who are part of the collaborative Innovation centre of the institution called COIN and the Artificial Intelligence Club have been brain storming to find a holistic solution to address the COVID-19 pandemic using technology.
Coimbatore: A team of 40 students from the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication who are part of the collaborative Innovation centre of the institution called COIN and the Artificial Intelligence Club have been brain storming to find a holistic solution to address the COVID-19 pandemic using technology.
The team members have used artificial intelligence technology on the x-rays of the lung machines to identify Corona infection. The system proposed by them is also capable of identifying other viral infections like – Saars and Pneumonia.
In addition to this identification, they have also come out with a mobile app Mithran which is an integrated solution during the unprecedented difficulty times of COVID -19 pandemic.
This mobile app not only ensures social distancing, but it also helps for the daily social routine, helping people who cannot move out from their localities. This complete project has been mentored and supported by the management of the Institution and SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Principal Dr. N.R. Alamelu.
The department of Public Health Government of Tamil Nadu, the Department of Medical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu are ready to offer all possible support to take this project forward.
