Coimbatore: Due to restricted movement during lockdown has regular donors are unable to teach blood banks or hospitals to donate blood. Further, tracing new donors during emergency situations is a huge challenge, opine blood donors.
In order to help cater to the blood requirement of other patients undergoing inevitable surgeries and treatment during the curfew, members of the Indian Democratic Youth Association donated blood to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital with special permission from District Collectorate.

The special camp that was jointly organised by the Indian Democratic Youth Association and CMCH today was held at the CITU Engineering Association, Ganapathy.
A large number of youths participated and donated blood in the event. This was inaugurated by VM Ramamurthy, the Coimbatore district secretary of the Marxist party.
