Coimbatore: Due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Valparai, construction works have come to a grinding halt across the nation. Collectively, people belonging to many sections of the society have become jobless and are in a need of assistance for a longer period.

In a bid to help such people, Valparai MLA Kasthuri Vasu handed over relief supplies today to construction workers, auto, taxi drivers, tempo drivers and Nadhaswaram musicians group. Each of them was presented with a relief fund of Rs.1,000 and a bag of vegetables.

More than 500 people in need of assistance maintained social distancing norms and received their relief supplies from the MLA.
Valparai Municipal Commissioner, President of City Cooperative Bank and others took part in the event.
