Coimbatore: The Commissioner of Police has ordered the temporary closure of the Podanur police station following the identification of three police officers being affected by Covid-19.
Coimbatore: The Commissioner of Police has ordered the temporary closure of the Podanur police station following the identification of three police officers being affected by Covid-19.
The three members add to the already existing three cops with corona virus adding to the tally of cops affected with the virus in Coimbatore.
The three cops were working at the Podanur police station.
Following this incident, the police who worked there have been urged to isolate themselves. Police commissioner Sumit Saran has reportedly told the police that the Podanur police station premises be closed and operate from elsewhere.
Of the total six police infections excluding the cases in Podanur, one is from the Kuniyamuthur police station, one is from the Armed Forces and one is the traffic department .
Meanwhile, people have been prohibited from entering the Coimbatore Municipal Police Office.
