Coimbatore: In a novel act, members of the Athma and Ruthrambara Trusts along with the Singanallur Women police helped a women give birth near the Singanallur Road signal late night, yesterday.
Coimbatore: In a novel act, members of the Athma and Ruthrambara Trusts along with the Singanallur Women police helped a women give birth near the Singanallur Road signal late night, yesterday.

According to members of the trusts, they were drawing COVID-19 awareness paintings on the road around 9.30 PM near the Singanallur signal, when Govindan, a native of Krishnagiri was taking his pregnant wife Revathi on a two wheeler to the hospital.
Unable to control the pain anyfurther, her husband stopped the vehicle by the pavement. As she was about to give birth and they were unable to take her to the hospital on time, Govindan had sought the help of the trust members.
Kandhavelan from Athma trust immediately informed Sub Inspector Arjun Kumar who called the women cops Krishnaveni and Babyrosy of Singanallur police for help.
The team then formed a barricade around Revathi and she gave birth to a healthy boy baby. The mother and child were immediately taken to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on an ambulance for further treatment. According to doctors both mother and child are safe.
