Coimbatore: With the lockdown in place, the Valparai police are taking extensive steps like spraying different paints on vehicles that venture outside defying lockdown.
Violating lockdown rules, many people in Valparai are allegedly shuttling from estates and interior villages to Valparai town area. In many areas social distancing has been thrown to the winds and people were seen gathering in small groups. Notably, many motorists were seen meandering in the streets claiming to buy essential goods.
In a bid to control people movement, the Valparai city police are holding vehicle inspections at all important junctions. Upon orders of DSP Vivekanandan, police force led by Assistant Inspector Satishkumar, Special Inspector Karunagaran were involved in operations to arrest people movement.

Today, the vehicles were painted yellow, as a sign of warning the motorists. The police informed that all vehicles that were painted yellow, should venture out to buy essentials only by next Thursday.

It is decided that each day different color paints will be used by the police to nab the motorists who callously venture out for silly reasons.
The public have welcomed the initiative, as people defying lockdown norms endanger other lives also by spreading the infection.
