Coimbatore: D1 Police station in Ramanathapuram had today tried to raise awareness among the public about coronavirus using an amusing way. As curfews are in place to curb the spread of coronavirus, the police are carrying out various measures against the public who are wandering in roads.
The public who were on roads were made to stand with social distancing maintained. Kovai Prasanth disguised as 'Kodangi' (soothsayer) came and raised awareness about the effects of coronavirus. They also explained the need to stay home. Following this, D1 Police also provided free masks to those who did not wear a face mask.
Curfew has been implemented to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Various awareness programs are being conducted on the transmission of coronavirus and prevention methods.
Police are using spray paints on vehicles, making public wait for over half hour and registering cases to raise awareness amongst people. Vehicles of those who come out without a reason are returned after 10 days.
As part of this, the Ramanathapuram police station today conducted this awareness campaign.
