Coimbatore: The authorities have completely sealed off Valparai after a woman tested positive for coronavirus. A few days ago, a woman from Valparai, Saravankadu area was admitted to the Pollachi Government Medical Center for delivery.
She gave birth to a child and returned yesterday to Valparai and was staying at a relative's house in Gandhi Nagar, near the market. She was taken to the ESI hospital in Valparai last night after she was diagnosed with coronavirus. There she is undergoing intensive examination. Following this, a full curfew has been implemented in Valparai.
The area where the woman was staying in Gandhi Nagar has been completely locked down including Valparai market and Gagan colony. And all the shops including pharmacies, petrol stations, are closed.
The municipality has issued a strict warning not to leave the house. Police have been actively patrolling the area.
