9 COVID-19 patients discharged yesterday in Tirupur

Tirupur: District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan said that out of the 108 people who are taking treatment for COVID-19 from Tirupur, nine people were discharged yesterday.



Tirupur: District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan said that out of the 108 people who are taking treatment for COVID-19 from Tirupur, nine people were discharged yesterday.

District Collector Vijay Karthikeyan inspected the crowds at Meat Shops today. He told reporters that “108 people in Tirupur district had been infected with the coronavirus until yesterday and that nine people had returned home from the ESI hospital yesterday and a total of 10 had recovered in the city.”

Around 848 persons have been placed under home quarantine. Corporation's Corona Inspection Department has been conducting inspections in houses in the containment zones in Tirupur. Thousands have been tested in the last three days and the test results of 350 of them will be released today.

A strict warning was issued against those who publish names of the victims in social media. He said that more than 1 lakh migrant workers in Tirupur would be provided with food items in the second phase. He also said no one has been infected through community spread in Tirupur.
