In this situation, people on the main road near the Kerala check post on Vaazhaichal saw a crocodile crossing the road. This caused them to flee in panic. Upon receiving information regarding this, the Kerala Forest department officials who arrived at the location caught the crocodile that was still wandering on the streets. They caught the crocodile and set it free in a river in the dense region of the forest.
The Forest department has however cautioned the people and said that since there is no vehicular or people movement due to the lockdown, it is possible that the wild animals from the forests might wander out onto the roads. People have therefore been asked to exercise caution while they are out on these roads.
