Coimbatore: The good trend for Coimbatore and Nilgiris continues as today but the trend has been reversed for Tirupur. Following few days of no new coronavirus cases in Coimbatore, 1 new case have been declared positive for coronavirus.
Tirupur saw the biggest jump in the number of cases as 28 more people were tested positive for the coronavirus. Nilgiris recorded no new cases.
TN Health Department had confirmed that the number of cases in TN has risen by 49 today taking it to a total of 1372 positive cases. Of these 49 cases, 28 have been from Tirupur District.
It is said that all the cases that have been tested positive in Tirupur are new cases.
Sources say that 355 results have been processed since yesterday in Tirupur. Out of which 28 are positive and 327 negative.
Out of the 28, 11 cases are attendees of Delhi conference who were earlier tested negative but were found positive yesterday just before discharge. 12 cases are family of negative participants of Delhi conference and 5 of them are contacts of other positive Delhi conference cases.
