Babu decided to donate his one month salary of Rs. 25,788 to the CM relief fund through Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, Sujith Kumar.
Coimbatore: The pandemic crisis of novel coronavirus that has gripped the whole world has had people and governments fighting to control the spread of the virus. This has made people fight for each other, governments working to ensure people are protected and the efficiencies and deficiencies of the health infrastructure of many countries have been shown up.
Many good samaritans have come forward voluntarily to provide any support they can offer like provide financially, by sharing resources, volunteering to serve the needy or by providing infrastructure. In one such incident yesterday, a young police constable working in Coimbatore had come forward to donate his whole month salary to the CM relief fund.
This is a noble gesture as he’s already on the frontline serving people as a government servant during this pandemic crisis. Babu, 35-year old, is hailing from Kalickanaickenpatti Village near Palani. He had lost his mother last year and is unmarried. He has been on COVID-19 duty since the onset of the lockdown and had served in Mettupalayam and Coimbatore suburbs.
While in Mettupalayam, he saw first hand a lot of people getting affected and admitted in the hospital for COVID-19. This disturbed his conscience and decided that he should contribute something more than just his service to the nation. Thus Babu decided to donate his one month salary of Rs. 25,788 to the CM relief fund through Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, Sujith Kumar.
He says, “If my mother was alive, she would have asked me to do this. I don’t have any loans or other commitments. Thus I decided to donate fully. Life long our requirements don’t end, but this is a time of need and I wanted to contribute more than my work at this time.”
This noble gesture by a young constable has won the hearts of many in the department.
