The farm of Velmurugan in the Manjur area of Ooty in Nilgiris was set up with a barbed wire fence and a rope fence to keep animals away from the farm. However, a leopard that tried to enter the farm got caughtin the fence.
People who witnessed this screamed out of fear and this caused the leopard to put more effort into escaping. As a result of this the leopard tore past the fence after struggling for half an hour and managed to escape the scene.
This incident caused a stir in the area for some time with the screaming struggle of the leopard and people who were watching from around the fence.
