Coimbatore: President of 'Palsamaya Nalluravu Iyakkam' in Saibaba Colony, Muhammed Rafiq presented food supplies worth Rs. 4 lakhs to the Coimbatore District Collector.

The relief supplies included rice, wheat, oil, rava and pulses. The supplies were intended for the tribal people, North Indian workers and the 200 families of Sri Lankan refugees at the camp in Thoppampatti near Thudiyalur.
Many volunteer organisations and social activists have been providing relief supplies to the needy. In order to contain the spread of the disease the government directed the organisations and individuals providing the relief supplies to direct it through the District Collector or the Tahsildar.

The 'Palsamaya Nalluravu Iyakkam' had earlier been providing the relief supplies directly to the needy. However, following the government's directive to supply the relief materials through the District Collector or the Tahsildar, the organisation decided to hand over the supplies to the District Collector.
