According to foresters, the elephant aged around 10 was involved in a fight with a tusker and sustained injuries near the lower jaw.
Deeply wounded and unable to feed, the animal had roamed around the area for a few days before succumbing around evening. We had shared the video of the elephant roaming around in the forest earlier in the day.
The animal was given a fighting chance by foresters and a veterinary team. However, it did not respond to the treatment.
