However, Muhammed Safiq (34) of SNR Garden tried to enter the isolated area in spite of police protection. Sub Inspector Sowparnika who was on duty at the spot refused to let him inside. In retaliation, Muhammed Safiq allegedly used abusive language against the Sub Inspector and got into a dispute with her.
Sub Inspector Sowparnika filed a complaint with the Kuniamuthur Police Station against Muhammed Safiq. Following this, he was arrested for attempting to enter an isolated zone. Cases were filed against Muhammed Safiq under the Infectious Disease Prevention Act, Use of Abusive language and Obstructing a Government Servant from discharging duties. He was arrested and imprisoned.
