The Nilgiris District Administration has been taking up various preventive measures to control the spread of the virus. After a COVID-19 positive case was confirmed in S. Kaikaati village in the Nedugula Panchayat, five villages around the village were isolated.
Following isolation, entry and exit points of S. Kaikaati village were sealed. The district administration had informed the residents to stay indoors and assured them that arrangements have been made to deliver essentials to them.
Upon orders from District Collector, J Innocent Divya fumigatiion works are being undertaken at the S. Kaikaati village area in war footing. Disinfectants are being sprayed throughout the village, in a daily basis.
Around 440 teams have been formed across the Nilgiris district to hold door-to-door inspections, to sensitise people on COVID-19 infection and identify people exhibiting symptoms.

On Tuesday, a team led by Bhaskar Panchayat Officer, Nandakumar, Regional Development Officer (Kotagiri) Panchayat Secretary Sathish, Panchayat President and Panchayat Vice President and sanitation workers undertook extensive sanitation works in and around S. Kaikaati and its surrounding areas.
