Speaking to the press after the event she said, "The number of people under isolation in Nilgiris has steadily decreased from 1,351 to 232 people today. These people are under home isolation. A meeting with the traders was conducted yesterday regarding the supply of essentials and they have confirmed that there is enough stock for one month. People do not have to worry about the stores running out of supply."
Talking about the functioning of meat shops, she announced, "Meat shops will be functional on all weekdays and will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays. They will be open from 10 AM to 1 PM. Other traders can continue with their operations, however, they must ensure that social distancing is being maintained by the people who visit the shops."
She further informed, "The use of face masks has been made mandatory in the district. No person should step out onto the streets without a face mask and if anyone is found without a mask severe action would be initiated against them."
