The right way to do it is to buy for a week or ten days and not venture out daily but people venture out daily until 1 pm, and it has become a public menace during this period of self quarantine.

The police have tried their best through hard punishments, confiscating the vehicles, imposing fines, dishing out creative punishments like making the public do sit-ups, filing cases and making hundreds of arrests. Despite all this, people are constantly venturing out despite being asked to cooperate to prevent the spread of the disease. Many people are driving around claiming to provide food for needy. To prevent this, the district administration has announced that only those who have been sanctioned by the district administration will be allowed to provide food. It also warned that stern action would be taken against those who violated the norms.
Following this, the Commissioner of Police, Sumit Saran, said that only a few persons, such as doctors, patients and journalists, would be allowed to travel in vehicles and others who violate will be fined and a case will be registered against them. With permanent check posts already in place in Pothanur, Karambukadai, Sundarapuram, Kuniyamuthur, Ukkadam, Thadagam, Peelamedu, Ganapathy, Saravanampatti, Kalapatti, Singanallur, Mettupalayam, police have set up check posts in Avinashi road, Mettupalayam road, Trichy road, Pollachi road and Ramanathapuram with 33 Police beats and 47 police checkpoints have been created.
Henceforth, the district administration will be more stringent with the public venturing out and have requested the public to cooperate for the overall well-being of the city without which returning to normalcy would take months.
