Under the orders of the Nilgiris District Collector and the guidance of the Municipal Commissioner poultry meat and live chickens have been seized over the last couple of days.

Yesterday, upon receiving information regarding the sale of poultry meat in the Vandicholai area of Coonoor and fish sale in Vasampallam, the Municipal authorities conducted an inspection. On reaching the area, the team consisting of Health Inspector Mal Murugan, Sanitation Inspector Selvaraj, Sanitation Supervisor Thangaraj and Municipal workers, and Police Sub Inspector Yuvaraj inspected the site and seized 425 Kgs of poultry meat (live and cut meat) and 20 Kgs of fish.
Municipal Health Inspector Mal Murugan warned legal action against tho who violate the lockdown.
