Coimbatore: Fumigation work is being undertaken at the Corporation Central Zone, in the Kottaimedu area. Inspecting the work, District Collector K. Rajamani said, "People should remain safe in their houses, as a lockdown is in place. They should also practise social distancing."
He further said, "The Corporation is involved in fumigating various areas of the city. Disinfectants are being sprayed in each zone, with the help of two vehicles per zone and a total of 10 vehicles are being used. Sprayers have been fitted into tractors which are being used for this purpose."
"Apart from this five TATA Ace vehicles carrying 5,000 litres of disinfectants are being used for this purpose. Each zone is equipped with 70 sprayers each and a total of 350 sprayers are being used for the fumigation work. COVID-19 prevention measures are being undertaken in the district", informed the Collector.
During this inspection Revenue Tahsildar Dhanalingam, Central Zone Assistant Commissioner Mahesh Kanagaraj., Executive Engineer Karuppasamy, Zonal Health Inspector Radhakrishnan and other officials were present.
