Coimbatore: With the hotels and food establishments being closed down due to the lockdown, many NGOs have stepped in to provide food for the stranded and needy. To make their own contribution, the Coimbatore Hoteliers Association has been providing groceries to the needy people who have been affected due to the COVID-19 lockdown for the past few days.

In this scenario, the association has also decided to provide 3,500 food packets each day to the Corporation sanitation workers, officers, other district officer, volunteer organisations, private organisations, police department and to the general public.
"In order to assist the workers who are fighting against this crisis the association has decided to provide the officers and workers and other needy people with free food until the end of April", informed the association President Srinivasan and Secretary Sivakumar.
