Coimbatore: The COVID-19 crisis has imposed tremendous restrictions on the basic functioning of a society. The lockdown announced by the Central and State governments have curbed the movement of the people outside their homes.
Coimbatore: The COVID-19 crisis has imposed tremendous restrictions on the basic functioning of a society. The lockdown announced by the Central and State governments have curbed the movement of the people outside their homes.
For the safety of the people, they have been asked to stay indoors. District administrations and volunteer organisations have been helping the homeless, destitute people and the differently-abled people by providing them with food. Some members of the public have also provided food to the destitute people in their areas.
Yesterday, Sandeep, a Forest Department officer has donated his one month salary for the benefit of his people of Varapalayam village near Thudiyalur.
Along with the forest department and the police department they provided lunch, groceries and face masks to the daily wage laboureres and other poor people of the community.
Speaking regarding this he said, "Upon knowing that many people are struggling for their daily food, I donated one month of my salary for the benefit of the people. On the advice of the District Forest Officer lunch and groceries were provided to the people. I am happy that I can contribute whatever I can to the welfare of the people."
