BJP State General Secretary Vanathi Srinivasan said, "The Kovai Makkal Sevai Maiyyam with the help of 'Saksham' organisation has helped 55 differently abled people by providing them essential food items at their doorstep. The differently-abled people have been badly affected and we have done our part in easing their lives in a small way.”
The spread of COVID-19 has been creating a huge impact on the lives of the people in India and abroad. In TN alone the number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 738 and the country has gone into an unprecedented lockdown till April 14, 2020.
The lockdown permits the functioning of essential services and stores only. Due to this, the migrant workers in TN, the homeless and destitute people on the roadsides are suffering from lack of food.
Many organisations are helping various sections of the society with generous offering of essentials and other necessities. Among those affected badly has been the differently-abled people and their families as normal life has been affected. Today Kovai Makkal Sevai Maiyyam along with 'Saksham' offered their help to the differently-abled people.
