According to District Collector, K Vijayakarthikeyan there are 22 COVID-19 cases in the district, of which a majority of them are attendees of the Delhi religious congregation.
As of today, there are 908 people under home quarantine, out of which 158 people are out of quarantine, as there are free of symptoms. Compared to yesterday, 185 people have been added to the quarantine list.
The first case of Tirupur, the 57-year old male with travel history to the UK has fully recovered and has been sent home to be in isolation for the next 28 days.
Following these new cases, more areas aare declared as containment zones. Already seven areas in Tirupur like Angeripalayam, Devarayampalayam and Mangalam have been marked as containment zones. Containment zones have an area of 3km radius from the point where positive COVID-19 cases have been identified.
