This takes the total number of COVID-19 cases to 20 in the Tirupur district. The total number of cases in TN has risen by 69 to 690.
851 people are in home quarantine and 58 people who were under quarantine earlier have been relieved from it as they were free of symptoms. The first case of Tirupur, the 57-year old male with travel history to the UK has fully recovered and has been sent home to be in isolation for the next 28 days.
Following these new cases, more areas will come under the containment zones. Already seven areas in Tirupur like Angeripalayam, Devarayampalayam and Mangalam have been marked as containment zones. Containment zones have an area of 3km radius from the point where positive Covid-19 cases have been identified.
