Jains in Coimbatore prayed for world peace and for the world to come out of the corona crisis. The Jains did their prayers at their homes while following social distancing. They chanted navkara mahamantra, performed Pratikaman, Samayik and Preksha Dhyan.

The Suparswanath Jain Seva Mandal (SSJSM), the youth organisation came forward and distributed provisions, groceries and food packets for the 14th day continuously.
"Soon we realized that the lockdown would deprive the homeless, daily wage workers and labourers of their only source income. On day 2, we started by distributing 400 packets of food and water among the homeless, labourers, and daily wage workers in and around RS Puram and Saibaba Colony. After seeing the shortage of food, water and hygiene supplies around town, we decided to move our operation to a larger scale, with the help of our community kitchen at Sri Rajasthan Jain Shwetambar temple, RG street", said members of SSJSM
As of today, the Jains along with the help of the Coimbatore Police Department have distributed over 25000 packets of food, water, masks and gloves among homeless, labourers and destitute people in and around Sarvanmpatty, Sundrapuram, Rathnapuri, Saibaba colony, and R.S. Puram. The Coimbatore Jain community aims to continue distributing over 3500 packets per day of food and water and is committed to ensuring that everyone in Coimbatore has access to food, water and hygiene supplies amid the global crisis.
Sunil Nahata and Hitesh Jain joined with Sripal Ostwal the President of SSJSM said that they are thankful to all donors who have contributed The youth of SSJSM Rahul Mehta, Kalpesh Rathod, Dinesh Bamboli and two hundred members of SSJSM worked day and night with social distancing. Rajasthani Sangh is also providing food packets daily with social distancing.
The Khater Guch Yuvak Parishad (KYP) led by Deepak Nahata is also distributing provisions to the needy.
Kishore Jain said, "The 2619janm kalyanak or Mahaveer Jayanti was not celebrated but the Jains are happy that for the Jains country is first then only religion and their community."
