Tirupur: 6,45,920 rations cards supplied with relief materials; 1,28,665 migrant workers provided relief - Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan

Tirupur: Minister for Animal Husbandry Department, Udumalai Radhakrishnan presided a meeting regarding the COVID-19 prevention measures and actions being undertaken in Tirupur District, at the Tirupur District Collectorate.


Tirupur: Minister for Animal Husbandry Department, Udumalai Radhakrishnan presided a meeting regarding the COVID-19 prevention measures and actions being undertaken in Tirupur District, at the Tirupur District Collectorate. 

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said, "Since the Coimbatore ESI hospital is the designated hospital for COVID-19 treatment, patients from Tirupur are being sent there for treatment. Three confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Tirupur and the district administration has isolated all the three residential area, of the patients. These areas are being monitored closely." 

He further said, "The disinfection tunnel that was installed at the farmers market in Tirupur has been appreciated by the Central Finance Minister. Relief materials being provided at the ration shops have been distributed to 6,45,920 ration card holders, so far. The remaining card holders will also receive their relief supplies by the end of the month."

Talking about the situation of the migrant workers, he said, "1,28,665 migrant workers have been identified and are being provided relief materials and offered help by the District administration. The District administration is ready to undertake all the essential work for the people. The public are therefore requested not to step out of their homes, until it is an emergency."
