The most invisible and neglected in society, these workers face discrimination on a daily basis from members of the society. With very minimal protective gears, they continue to clean the garbage and dumps in the city making them the unsung heroes of every society.

The most invisible and neglected in society, these workers face discrimination on a daily basis from members of the society. With very minimal protective gears, they continue to clean the garbage and dumps in the city making them the unsung heroes of every society.

In a bid to recognise their work and show their respect to them, a mother and daughter from Palladam in Tirupur district honoured a woman sanitary worker of their street by garlanding and offering 'Paadha Pooja'.

While the daughter held a portrait of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the mother washed the foot of the sanitary workers and offered flowers at her feet which walks street after street to clear the garbage.

They later presented her with a garland decked with money and a saree. This thoughtful gesture by the mother and daughter has garnered praise from the public in social media.
