Thousands of workers from tea plantations came to the market today to buy essential commodities as part of the Coronavirus Prevention Campaign in Valparai, Coimbatore.

Thousands of workers from tea plantations came to the market today to buy essential commodities as part of the Coronavirus Prevention Campaign in Valparai, Coimbatore.
To avoid the risk of congestion Municipal Commissioner Dr Pavanraj ordered to set up vegetable, meat and fish market in Valparai Government High School premises. Barricades were set up so that people could stand with one-meter distance and buy goods. Toilet and washing facilities were also provided with hand wash.
Valparai MLA Kasturi Vasu inaugurated the market on Sunday. He distributed 500 bags of free vegetables to 500 families in the Sirukundra tea estate. Also, people in Sholiyar Estate were given free vegetable bags. Steps were taken to distribute free vegetable bags to all the ration cardholders in the Valparai area.
MLA Kasturi Vasu, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Pavanraj, Municipal Engineer Saravanababu, Co-operative Bank Chairman Valparai Ameed, Party executives including Pon Ganesh, Narasappan, were present.
