DMK functionary gets arrested for intimidating worker who came for cold and flu survey

Yesterday, a group of Anganwadi employees at Karumbukadai were intimidated by a DMK functionary and local of the area, Ismail, and were threatened to leave. The crew then informed their superiors at work about this incident.


Coimbatore: A DMK functionary was arrested by the police for intimidating a public servant who came for cold and flu survey. 

The Tamil Nadu Health Department is intensifying the coronavirus prevention program with the cluster of infections increasing day by day.

Part of this work is to go door to door in affected areas to identify and isolate those who have gone abroad and those who have been in contact with Corona victims. On the orders of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu cold and fever, tests are being carried out in various areas.

To execute this, corporation employees, health workers and Anganwadi centre staff are conducting surveys and inspections in various parts of the Coimbatore Corporation. Yesterday, a group of Anganwadi employees at Karumbukadai were intimidated by a DMK functionary and local of the area, Ismail, and were threatened to leave. The crew then informed their superiors at work about this incident.

Later, a female employee of Anganwadi Jayanthi complained at Pothanur police station and the police have arrested Ismail from Saramedu, near Karumbukadai and filed a case under six sections, including preventing civil servants from working, harassing women and aiding in spreading the disease.
