Tirupur: District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan said today that three from Tiruppur have tested positive for coronavirus and test results for over 50 were being awaited. The district collector inspected the meat and fish shops today to oversee if the instructions following last week's consultation meeting with volunteers and police had been implemented. This meeting was held because of the overcrowding that had happened during last week's Sunday market.

He later met with reporters and said he was working with social activists and police to prevent crowding at the meat and fish shops. To date, 1114 people have been isolated and are being monitored in Tiruppur. Three from Tiruppur have tested positive for coronavirus and test results for over 50 people are being awaited
The district collector said that the public should remain at home till the end of the curfew to safeguard themselves and he also assured that there is nothing to fear or panic.
