Coimbatore: The people from the Upplipalayam area have requested the District Collector yesterday to relocate the north Indian workers in their area citing public nuisance reasons.

In this scenario, north-Indian youths who were wandering around without a place to stay were made to stay at the corporation hall near Thandumariamman Temple in Upplipalayam. The people in Upplipalayam filed a petition with the District Collector demanding that the north Indian workers be relocated from there as they are causing public disturbance to the people of the area. The residents were denied permission to go as a group to Collectorate by the authorities and hence one representative was allowed to submit the petition
District Collector after enquiring contacted the Thasildhar. The public dispersed after the district collector said that the North-Indian workers would be relocated as soon as possible.
