The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Home Ministry along with all the States & Union Territories had launched a large scale tracking procedure after the government belatedly recognized that the new cases of coronavirus infections seem to be related to the Tablighi Jamaat conference which happened in New Delhi.

A large scale tracking of the of the participants, workers and their primary contacts of the Tablighi Jamaat conference at New Delhi, was undertaken by the Home Ministry and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Though the government recoginsed that new cases of COVID-19 were related to the people who were at the conference, the tracking procedure undertaken with the help of the state government and Union territories led to the identification of most of the people.

Many foreign nationals related to this incident showed positive results for COIVD-19. The government however clearly identified the Tablighi Jamaat conference as a potential cluster only three days ago. It remained unnoticed until March 24.

Once the conference was identified as a major source for the COVID-19 spread, the government began to look out for all the attendees. Instruction were given to track and isolate the participants. The Tablighi Markaz mosque was also instructed to be vacated.

Massive state and district wide efforts were launched and as of today, 22,000 Tablighi Jamaat workers and their primary contact have been identified and placed under quaratine. The quarantined people include 1,306 foreigners, according to the spokesperson for the Minster for Health and Family Welfare.

In Delhi 2,000 Tablighi Jamaat workers, including 250 foreigners were identified. 1,804 of them have been shifted to quaratine centers and 334 people who were symptomatic, have been hospitalised.

In TN, out of the 1131 participants 1103 people have been traced and quarantined. Out of the 658 people tested 110 have been tested POSITIVE.
