Coimbatore: Isha Yoga Foundation has requested the TN Police to take legal action against the people who spread fake news of an alarming nature, against the yoga center, in relation to the spread of Coronavirus.

The country is in a unforseen state of difficulty, presently, combating the spread of COVID-19. In this state, miscreants are spreading fake news on media and social media, associating the Mahashivarthri festival that was conducted at the Isha Yoga center on February 21, with the spread of the virus.
"If a person has been affected with the virus, they will start showing symptoms in 14 days. However, it has been 40 days since the Mahashivarathri festival was celebrated. This is being done with a motive to disrupt the general peace and Isha Foundation condemns these baseless rumours", it said
It further said, "Isha has already given enough explanations and clarified it through press news. This is being done to tarnish the image of Isha and to create fear and panic among the people. This is being done with a bad motive."
The Isha Foundation has requested action on the people and organisations that published these fake rumours, on Google, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other social media websites, online news channels, print and television media. Complaints have been filed with the TN police. Some of the news that appeared on the media have been submitted as proofs. Based on these, action will be taken on the concerned organisations and people, assured the TN police department.
The Isha Foundation also requested the media and all people to act with social responsibility, at difficult times like these.
