Thanking the Kerala CM, CM of TN Edappadi Palanisamy tweeted on Twitter saying, "We are happy that Kerala considers us as brothers and sisters. We will stay and support the brothers and sisters of Kerala during good and bad times. Long live this brotherhood and friendship,"

TN and Kerala share a strong and long cultural and socio-political relationship for thousands of years and ever since the floods in Kerala, the display and recognition of the brotherhood has been on the high again.
