Coimbatore: Throughout the lockdown imposed countrywide to control the spread of the coronavirus, most people have adhered to the rules and stayed indoors but some people have been violating the lockdown rules almost on a daily basis by roaming on the roads of the city for unnecessary reasons and violating the social distancing norms.

Under the order of the TN government, the police have been tackling these offenders by booking them with cases for violating the lockdown.
Accordingly, 110 cases have been filed, 114 people arrested and 29 motorcycles have been confiscated in the city until yesterday April 2nd, 2020.
Similarly in the suburban regions of Coimbatore, 372 cases have been filed, 412 people arrested and a total of 370 vehicles have been confiscated yesterday.
This makes it a total of 482 cases have been filed and 526 people arrested yesterday.
