In a bid to sensitise the tribals on the pandemic, the forest department settlement held an awareness session on COVID-19, today in which tribes belonging to Kadar, Irular, Pulaiyar and Mudhuvar tribal settlements took part.

The session was held under the supervision of District Forest Officer, Arokiaraj. Forest Ranger, Naveen and Forester Muniyandi led the team consisting of more than 30 wildlife-human-encounter guards who visited various settlements at the seventh division training center at Attakatti, Kallaar, Nallamudi, Shankarankudi settlement and other settlements and interacted with the tribals, and created awareness regarding the pandemic.
Further, they insisted the tribal members to step out of the forests only for essentials and emergencies. They were also advised to get permit from the forest department before venturing out.
