Coimbatore: A petrol bunk employee was assaulted at the Sulur police station, for refusing to sell petrol, past the sale time.
Coimbatore: A petrol bunk employee was assaulted at the Sulur police station, for refusing to sell petrol, past the sale time.
Sulur Circle Writer Madhappan, has visited the petrol bunk, in plain clothes, past 4 PM. Ashokraj, who was on duty at the petrol bunk, at that time had informed Madhappan that the sale of petrol was closed at 2.30 PM and that, the owner had taken the keys away.
Mandhappan was enraged and entered in to an argument and said that he was being refused petrol, even when Ashokraj knew that he was a policeman.
Following this, he threatened Ashokraj and took him to the police station and assaulted him brutally. The incident left Ashoraj with a fractured arm.
Following this he was admitted at a private hospital on Avinashi road, for treatment.
Subsequently, the owner of the petrol bunk placed a complaint with the District Superintendent regarding this incident. As a result of this, the Superintendent ordered for Madhappan to be transferred to the Firearms division.
