Coimbatore: The tracking and identification of those who travelled to participate in the Tablighi Jamaat conference in New Delhi has been a national issue. It was estimated that around 1131 participants from Tamilnadu had attended this conference.
Coimbatore: The tracking and identification of those who travelled to participate in the Tablighi Jamaat conference in New Delhi has been a national issue. It was estimated that around 1131 participants from Tamilnadu had attended this conference.
All District Administrations of the state of Tamilnadu were given lists of names to be traced and quarantined. The Coimbatore District Administration has been given a list of 103 members to be traced and quarantined. Out of this, 91 of them have been tracked and isolated in Mettupalayam and Coimbatore. Their secondary contacts and those who might have come in touch with them are being traced right now by various district administration authorities.
Out of the 28 positive cases from Coimbatore district, 21 are taking treatment from Mettupalayam and 7 are being treated in ESI Hospital, Singanallur, Coimbatore. Only one case is from the city of Coimbatore (Podanur), 5 from Anamalai, 2 from Pollachi, and 20 cases from Mettupalayam.
The rest of the attendees are requested to come forward on their own like the others who have done till now to contain the spread of the virus in the city. This will help not only them but also their relatives, friends and all those whom they come in touch with.
