Coimbatore: In separate incidents, police seized liquor that was hoarded illegally, from different places in Coimbatore.
Police received information regarding the sale of liquor that has been hoarded in Athipalayam road, near Periyanaickenpalayam. Upon receiving information Inspector Prithviraj and a team of police rushed to the spot and seized 140 liquor bottles, from the spot. They also arrested the Sivaganagai residents Muthu (45), Ramachandran (50) and Kalaignar (29).
In another incident, Madukkarai Sub-inspector Thirumalaisamy, led a team of police to the Atlantic Nagar area, and seized 46 liquor bottles. Sudhakar (24), of the Madukkarai market area was arrested in connection with this. A motorcycle and Rs. 23,000 cash were also seized from him.
On receiving information regarding hoarding and sale of liquor, in the Perur, Kovilpalayam area, two people have been arrested and nine bottles of liquor have been seized.
A team of police led by Sub Insoector Muthu, undertook patrolling on the 9th street, Cross cut road and Katoor. During the patrol, they came across the sale of hoarded liquor, by Vetri (32), a resident of Pudukkotai. Police arrested him and seized 20 liquor bottles from him.
Police arrested Madankumar (23) of Kulathuipalayam, who was involved in the sale of liquor near the Kuniamuthur area. Four bottles of liquor was seized from him.
