Coimbatore: Master Jakkubai of Puliampatti in Annur, is a herbal tea seller. He provides herbal tea for various functions like weddings and other community functions.
Since there are no community functions taking place in the current scenario, he decided to dedicate his time, in keeping up the health of the police and other government employees, who work hard in these times.
Everyday, he prepares herbal tea for 2,000 people and leaves in his car. On the way, he provides this herbal tea to policemen and government employees, who are involved in the prevention measures.
Jakkubai states that it take Rs.5,000 for him to prepare this tea, everyday. The tea is made from kovaikkaai, gooseberry, mango, dry ginger, thippili, and 82 ingredients in total.
Doing this out of self interest, he said that the herbal tea provides one with immunity and refreshes them. This he felt, was vital for the employees who work hard day and night.
Not expecting any reward for his service, he said that he was doing this as a service, with the materials he had, in hand. He planned to provide this herbal tea until April 13.
He felt that this was a small deed that he could do, to help the police and other employees, at a time when all shops are closed.
