Coimbatore: Migrant workers from the Paadasaalai area in Echanaari, who attempted to travel to their home states were brought back to Coimbatore, by the police.
More than 300 workers belonging to UP and MP, are involved in construction work (laying tiles), in Coimbatore. Due to the lockdown across the country, people have been restricted to travel, for anything else other than essential reasons.
In this situation, these migrant workers decided to travel back to their home states. They undertook their journey, by foot, on the bypass road, and reached Singanallur. From Singanallur, they hitchhiked on vehicles carrying essential goods, yesterday.

However, when these vehicles were inspected near Avinashi, by the police, these workers were sent back to Coimbatore.
Following this the workers, returned back to the Paadasaalai area, where they had been sheltered. However these workers had not maintained the required social distancing norms, during their travel.

As a result of this, health check ups have been mandated for these migrant workers, at the Madukkarai Taluk Office.
